The J. Cox Accounting Firm was established July 10, 1997 as a partnership between Joya Cox, Accountant and Clarabell Cox, Office Manager. On February 1, 2007, J. Cox Accounting Firm became a sole proprietorship. This occurred when Clarabell Cox passed away on January 24, 2007.

This firm began with offering basic accounting and tax services. Gradually the J. Cox Accounting Firm grew over the years and more services were added until it became the full service accounting firm of today.

Joya Cox - Enrolled Agent

Ms. Cox, owner of J. Cox Accounting Firm, became an Enrolled Agent on July 22, 2008. Enrolled Agents prepare taxes, negotiate with the IRS, and represent people before the IRS Tax Court.

Education and Life Experiences

Joya Cox received a Bachelors of Business Administration in Business and Accounting from Silver Lake College in 1997. Ms. Cox was a partner at Great Lakes Leather Products Company. From 1998 to 2001, Joya Cox was the treasurer and board member of Sheboygan County Historical Society. These positions provided a wealth of experience in accounting, manufacturing and non-profit organizations. Even with all this responsibility, Ms. Cox has continued her education with continued education credits from the National Association of Tax Practitioners and Properties tax. Joya's special areas of interest are tax issues and Quickbooks applications.
